FAQs

What kinds of disputes can mediation handle?

Mediation works for divorce, landlord–tenant, workplace, business, and community conflicts — nearly any dispute where people want a fair resolution.

How long does mediation take?

At Mosaic, we can get most cases scheduled the same day and conduct session within 1-2 weeks. Generally, 4-8 hours will be enough for most cases. We can suggest appropriate length during our free consultation. The time can be broken up into several sessions or done altogether.

Is mediation legally binding?
Agreements can be made legally binding if both parties sign and file them with the court.
Can I compare options before deciding on mediation?

Absolutely. In fact, this is exactly what our consultations are for! Mediation is an excellent process for building solutions -- but it's not appropriate for every situation. That's why we start by learning about the situation and your goals first, then recommend options that fit. That may be mediation, but it may not.

Will mediation really work for my situation?

Our team has 60+ years of professional experience. Trained, credentialed, and recognized for our work, our clients (and even their attorneys) have been amazed to watch us turn around even the worst conflicts. See the reviews for yourself.

What if the other side refuses to mediate?

We offer conflict coaching to support how you show up in conflict. This alone can shift the whole dynamic (and often times, it can lead to mediation that support binding deals). Personalized preparation that helps you clarify goals, understand the process, and negotiate (and mediate) confidently and ready to engage constructively.
